The upload option allows for an employer to register multiple employees at one time, with a single payment (if necessary). This option is not recommended for employers with less than 10 employees. If you have less than 10 employees you should have each employee register individually.
There are two steps to the registration process:
1. Create an Online Services account, if you don’t already have one. (If you already have a Tax Professional or Business Online Services account, login and skip to step two.)
- You need to create a Tax Professionals Online Services account.
- If you don’t have an Electronic Filer Identification Number (EFIN), create a Business Online Services account instead.
- This account is associated with your tax preparation business.
- You should use your business’s own filing information (for sales tax, withholding tax, and corporation tax) to create this account.
- DO NOT use your client’s information to create your Online Services account.
2. Complete the Tax Preparer Registration online service
- Once you login to your account, you will see a list of available services.
- Select the link for “Tax preparer registration - upload”
- Follow the upload instructions to complete your file upload.
